Yew Tree Community School

Physical activity is vital to a child's well-being and development. Physical activities support your child to develop his/her core strength, co-ordination, spatial awareness and muscle control, whilst also developing the finer muscles that are necessary for using tools such as scissors or a knife and fork, and pens or pencils for writing and drawing. Young children need to be physically active every day.

Playdough is great for developing hand strength and co-ordination, and is easy to make at home using the recipe below. Wrap it up when your child has finished playing with it or store it in an airtight box and it will last for ages!

In school we have lots of fun with our dough, and often do actions to songs with it. Here are some of our favourites that you could try at home!
